Activar Mobility. 23-27 of March 2011 as a part of Inclusive Toolbox Project I had a pleasure to know Activar organisation in Lousa in Portugal. It was study visit and for two days we had known the way the Activar is organized and projects they run. We explored also the town – by Peddy Paper activity.
Main area of they work is organizing free time for kids from kindergarden from 15:00-18:30. This organization collaborates with three kindergardens. We had visited them and showed games from our countries to kids.
They also take care of youngsters. Activar helps in realizing project similar to “Pogromcy Nudy” of Horyzonty, which is a place for youngsters for workshops, meetings and other activities for development and creativity.
Moreover we could get to know other organization – Arcil, which takes care of disabled people (their rehabilitation, education and introducing them into labour market). We had visited ceramic workshop, where they make ceramic souvenirs. We could see how the Danish method of stimulation deeply disabled works.
For résumé we had a little mountain hiking and folklore evening, where we could join in traditional dancing. Lousa is not only very active community with cultural richness, but it’s also simply beautiful.
